This blog features a gift basket perfect for any mom that you can tweak, alter, or just be inspired as you create a unique gift basket for your mom.

Let’s get into making the perfect gift basket for mom:
1. Theme
Think about what the theme is going to be for your gift basket! You can base it on her favorite color, items, or activity. For example, this gift basket, shown above, has a blue theme! My mom’s favorite color is blue, so I chose items in line with that color scheme.
If you want your basket to be aesthetically pleasing, the color scheme of the items in your basket is key!
I chose this gift box (from HomeGoods) to create the basket with because I know my mom loves these boxes she can use for storage, so think about a useful item to put your gifts in! Whether a basket or a box!
2. Items
What does your mom LOVE? My mom loves coffee, and I included Hawaiian coffee, beautiful mugs, and biscotti in her basket, all aligning with the coffee theme. Usually, I find it best when building the basket to start with a base item or items and build off of those. So I started by thinking of coffee and what would pair well. I also remembered my mom mentioning how she would love better-quality mugs in her kitchen, so I included two I knew she would love.

3. Treats
Whenever I build a gift basket, I include the person’s favorite treats! My mom LOVES ginger candies and dark chocolate peanut butter cups, so I included those in her basket. If your mom enjoys a special treat she doesn’t buy for herself very often, this is the perfect time to gift it!
4. Flowers
Elevate your gift by including fresh flowers in the basket! My favorite place to get fresh flowers is Trader Joe’s, where I got the roses pictured in this basket. If you can’t get real flowers, faux flowers can be just as beautiful, and they won’t die!

5. Heartfelt Note
Top off your basket with a handwritten note; if your mom is anything like mine, the note means more to them than the basket. You can get her all sorts of fancy gifts, but she will cherish the heartfelt words in your card the most.
